In a blaze of fury and finesse, the digital battleground was set ablaze as Funrar and KUSANAGI clashed in an unforgettable duel on Short Fighters' latest Street Fighter 6 replay. With fingers flying faster than Hadouken fireballs, both competitors demonstrated why they're considered among the top tier of SF6 fighters.
The match began with a palpable tension that could rival any standoff between Spike Spiegel and Vicious. The first round saw Funrar's Ryu facing off against KUSANAGI's Ken, two iconic characters from the franchise whose rivalry mirrors that of their players'. It was clear from the get-go that this wasn't just another casual skirmish; it was personal.
Funrar opened up strong with a series of swift low kicks followed by an unexpected Dragon Punch (DP), catching KUSANAGI off guard. But like Faye Valentine evading bounty hunters, KUSANAGI quickly recovered his footing to retaliate with a DP combo - talk about trading blows!
As if channeling Jet Black's stoic resilience, Funrar maintained composure under pressure, expertly blocking multiple Tatsumaki Senpukyaku attempts from his opponent. However, despite these defensive maneuvers, he struggled to regain control as KUSANAGI relentlessly pushed forward.
Midway through Round 2 we saw what might be one of the most daring plays yet: In true Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV fashion (or Ed for short), Funrar launched into an audacious Shinku Hadoken super move! While risky given its long execution time and predictable pattern - it paid off big time when it connected squarely against Ken’s jawline sending him sprawling across the floor.
Kusanagi wasn’t ready to throw in his gloves though – no sir! He came back swinging harder than ever before in Round 3 showing us all why he is revered in the Street Fighter community. With a series of well-timed DPs and an impressive Shinryuken finish, he managed to level the playing field.
The final round was nothing short of epic – it was like watching Julia’s last stand against Vicious! Both players traded Dragon Punches with such speed and precision that even Ein would have had trouble keeping up. But in the end, Funrar's Ryu emerged victorious after landing one final devastating DP.
This match was more than just another entry into Short Fighters' SF6 replay library; it was a testament to both competitors
