In the ever-evolving world of Street Fighter 6, it's rare to see a player truly redefine the game. But that's exactly what DSP did in his latest match, an electrifying display of acrobatic mastery that sent shockwaves through the competitive community.
From the opening bell, DSP was on fire. He chose Ryu as his character - a choice many players might scoff at given Ryu’s perceived limitations in SF6. However, this wasn't your average Ryu play; this was something else entirely.
DSP opened with an audacious Shoryuken uppercut that caught his opponent off guard and set the tone for what would become a masterclass in aerial combat. His use of Ryu’s Tatsumaki Senpukyaku – or Hurricane Kick – was nothing short of sublime, using it not just as an offensive weapon but also as a tool for evasion and positioning.
The first round ended quickly with DSP landing a devastating Shin Shoryuken super combo after dodging his opponent’s attack by mere pixels. The crowd went wild! Yet even then, we had no idea just how high he would take us.
Round two saw more airborne antics from our hero. This time around though, he added another layer to his strategy: baiting out attacks from his adversary only to dodge them with nimble jumps and rolls before retaliating with punishing combos.
The highlight came midway through when he executed one of those rarely seen maneuvers—a mid-air parry against an incoming projectile followed by an immediate response: A lightning-fast jumping heavy kick into Shinku Hadoken super combo!
As Punch would say: “Talk about threading needles!” Judy chimed in her agreement: "It's like watching ballet...if ballet involved throwing fireballs!"
By Round three, it was clear who held sway over this battlefield. Yet despite having victory within grasp multiple times during this final bout, DSP never let up on showcasing his acrobatic prowess. He kept his foot on the gas, pushing himself to new heights with each jump, dodge, and roll.
The match concluded in spectacular fashion: DSP dodged an incoming attack with a perfectly timed backflip before launching into a devastating Metsu Shoryuken ultra combo that left his opponent reeling and secured him the victory.
As Judy would put it: “That’s not just winning; that's making a statement!” Punch added: "And what a statement it was!"
This match wasn't just about victory for DSP - it was about pushing the
