In the spirit of Cowboy Bebop, we find ourselves in a world where fists fly faster than bullets and every encounter is a high stakes gamble. Welcome to Short Fighters' recap of Daigo and Owaechan's recent Street Fighter 6 showdown.
The fight kicked off with an electric atmosphere as both players selected their characters - Daigo opting for his signature Guile while Owaechan chose Ryu, setting up a classic face-off that harked back to the early days of Street Fighter II.
From the word go, it was clear we were in for an epic clash. The first round opened with Daigo charging headlong into battle with Guile’s Sonic Boom barrage. However, Owaechan retaliated swiftly by parrying each projectile attack brilliantly and closing in on Daigo using Ryu’s Shoryuken uppercuts.
Owaechan took advantage of Ryu's speed and versatility against Guile’s defensive playstyle. He kept pushing forward despite being at the receiving end of some heavy Sonic Booms from Daigo. This relentless assault paid dividends when he finally managed to corner his opponent towards the end of Round One: delivering a series of fierce Tatsumaki Senpukyaku kicks which sent Guile sprawling onto the canvas.
Round Two saw Daigo come back swinging like Spike Spiegel himself! He masterfully used Guile's Flash Kick anti-air move to keep Owaechan grounded while simultaneously launching offensive attacks that had him reeling backwards. Despite this aggressive approach from Daigo, Owaechan maintained composure; countering effectively and landing solid hits whenever he found openings.
As they entered Round Three, both fighters showed signs of wear but refused to give any quarter. They traded blows evenly until time started running out – then came ‘the moment’. With only seconds left on the clock, both competitors were down to minimal health points when suddenly - in true Bebop style - Daigo pulled off a jaw-dropping Sonic Hurricane super move that left Owaechan’s Ryu with no chance of recovery.
The match ended in an explosive finish, leaving the audience on their feet and cheering wildly. In this epic clash, it was Daigo who emerged victorious but not without a valiant fight from Owaechan. Both competitors displayed incredible skill and tenacity, making for one of the most memorable matches in recent Street Fighter 6 history.
In true Short Fighters' fashion, we've condensed all that high-octane action into a
